Camping at Crowder

This summer we took my cousins son on his first camping trip. The boys fished, roasted marshmellows, walked trails, rode bikes, and bonded as cousins should.
Damn bridge overlook north of the lake.
Dad and Annabelle blowing bubbles for chasing and popping.
S'mores always taste better with a friend.
digging, swimming, and playing at the beach.

Crown Center Water Fountain Fun

Our First visit to Crown Center was not complete until we had taken a romp in the fountain. Next year we will certainly be taking towels and swim suits under clothes.
We also have pictures from the Children's Museum to come later.
Run run as fast as you can,
You can't catch me,
I'm the big brother man.

Chillicothe Car Show

The children enjoyed the Annual car show this weekend. I on the other hand did not. I had a terrible migraine and went to bed after taking this picture.

Swinging Free

I am so very late on this post but here it is just the same. Annabelle has learned many things this summer, some that I can photograph and some that I cannot. The most visible of which is how to swing on her own.
Dearest Annabelle,
You are growing and learning so fast, I want to keep you just as you are today forever in my loving arms.

My Inspiration

I am inspired by, The generosity of blogger Sara who gave me this kidlet and in doing so has inspired me to dust off my sewing machine and have some fun.
Hand written notes.
A swing in the shade.

The natural curiosity of a 3 year old. To see the world through her eyes, feel it through her hands. How does a slimy, smooth, moving slug feel when petted by a child?

Lettuce growing in the garden ready to pick and eat. Burgundy on bright green with brown what a color combination.
Asiatic Lilly, once again a color inspiration. I can already see the beautiful socks these colors would make or a twirling skirt for a special someone. Deep rich pink with hints of yellow, brown, bright green, and white. Close your eyes, can you see it too?
Astible, when I saw this picture it made me gasp. The white, purple, pink, and green are stunning together like fireworks exploding in the night sky.
Day Lilly, rose, yellow, white, and green. My heart is alive with color. I have to go spin now!

Happy Birthday Brad

Boy am I behind. These are pictures from Brad's birthday in May. This is his baseball cake! I think it turned out lovely and best of all he loved it!
Our festivities included bubbles and water guns galore.

That is my husband at the grill. Can you tell that he hates having his picture taken?
And last but not least the birthday boy Happy 8th birthday Brad

Cody's Back

We are blessed to have Cody (my BIL)back home. Cody recently returned from serving four years in the United States Marines. Cody was stationed many places overseas.

This is Cody's cat who has been under our care for the past three years. Shortly after adopting her Cody got his deployment notice so he flew her back to Missouri for safe keeping. The last time he saw her she was just 12 weeks old and almost all white.

Things have changed a lot since Cody joined the Marines

Babby Bunnies

As you can tell this post is coming in a little late. But here we go anyway. Early in the spring some neighbor children found these bunnies living under our swing set. They were very small but we were able to nurse them back to health until they were big enough to let go in a different part of the yard. We were so afraid that the neighbor children would kill them that we automatically took them into the house.
These pictures were taken the day we let them go in our side yard.
Those bunnies sure did eat a lot. We were glad we were able to help them because the mama bunny never came back for them during the night. We still see them in the front yard eating seeds from the bird feeder that have fallen to the ground.

Sleeping Angel

I have always liked pictures of my children sleeping. They look innocent and peaceful.
I couldn't help but put this one in too, it makes me laugh!

Warning picture heavy post

This is what summer is all about. The kids had a great time swimming in the pond at Wallace state park.
There were also about 25 geese taking up residence on the pond. They always walked or swam away from people.
Belle finally understands mineature golf. She had so much fun playing at Science City that she didn't want to stop.
Brad and Belle digging up dinsaur bones.
During the regular work week my husband can't have any facial hair so he likes to let it grow while we are on vacation. I think he looks dashing but itchy!

Where to Begin

It has been so long since I posted that I don't even know where to start. I will just jump in and try to catch up this month.
This is a hat that I am working on for Belle. the pattern is from knitted critters for kids to wear by jean adel. Belle instantly fell in love with Jeremiah the frog hat and mitten set. I need to add the mouth detail and start the mittens soon. All of the patterns in this book are simple and easy enough for beginners to understand a must have for children's knits in sizes 3-7 years. The yarn I used was cascade 220 superwash wool. This is my first time working with this yarn and I love it.
