A crazy wonderful week.

This doesn't happen very often at my house but Sleeping Beauty willingly laid down for her nap. Now I am off to take pictures of my knitting in the yard alone!

I Finished both of my simple socks and then adjusted the pattern a little bit okay a lot to make a pair for my little angel baby. I finished her first sock and was a little worried that it was going to be too long but it fit just perfect. thank goodness because I don't think that she wants to wait until the second one is finished to wear this one much less wait until she grows into them.

Okay, I know this looks like a baby hat and a darn cute one it would be but alas it is not although it has given me an idea. This little wonder is destined to be a center pull yarn ball holder that will fasten to my belt loop. I can't wait to get it finished and try it out. I hope to get the handle finished tonight and purchase the necessary hardware at Wal-Mart on my next visit. Once it is completed I will give you a new picture and I will also look up where I got the pattern from.

Another picture of my first pair of socks. If only it wasn't 90 degrees outside I would be wearing these socks everywhere. They would look a little out of place at the pool with my bathing suit. I am PROUD of these but don't say you heard it from me. Oh, and did I tell you that I think I am hooked on Sock knitting. I can't wait to get to Liberty to purchase more sock yarn from the Old Mill Stitchery.

And last but not least my two favorite men. We had a great time fishing together last weekend. We didn't catch any fish but we had a fun time together regardless.

Until next time knit, knit. knit. And please leave a comment I would love to hear from readers.

Knitting Group

I found a wonderful knitting group that meets at a local pastry parlor. Today was my second time joining the group and already I feel completely at home. Pat let me borrow her copy of Debbie Macombers new book Back on Blossom street. If you are a knitter and a reader you should check out her blossom street series. The stories center around Lydia and her Yarn shop.

I finished a sock for my sweet little Annabelle during the meeting. I was worried that it would be a little too big but it fit just perfectly. Now I just need to make the second one the same size.

I also finished and started a second scarf using Patons Ci Ci yarn. I plan to gift both scarfs if I can wrestle them from Annabelle.

That is all I have for now pictures to come soon. We are off to watch my son's coach pitch baseball game.

MY FIRST BLOG WHOO HOO!

This is my first blog every and I am so excited. I have so many fun projects to share.

I just finished my first pair of socks and I think that I am severely addicted. I visited my not so local knitting shop (it is an hour and a half from my driveway sometimes longer if traffic is bad in Liberty) and the ladies there helped me tremendously in choosing sock yarn. They also provided me with a basic pattern to get started.
I started a tank top made from a pattern in Vogue Knitting. I almost finished the ribbing on the bottom when I read ahead in the pattern only to find that the author of the pattern suggests that you use a needle a size or two smaller that what is listed for the pattern for the ribbing so that is doesn't stretch too much. Couldn't those special directions have been before the cast on and ribbing instructions? Now I will begin frogging today.

As soon as I get this blogging thing figured out I will have lots of pictures I love taking pictures of all kinds of things and now I will have a special place to display my knitting and yarn pictures.
I did it I added a picture! My husband snapped this picture for me. I am modeling the bag and the lovely Annabelle is checking it out. This is my first felting project. I am going to use the bag for my knitting if I can convince myself that I don't need to use it as a purse. Time will tell.
Thanks for reading!
